With spring well underway, the Inner West Amateur Beekeeping Association is hosting a one-day workshop about the basics of beekeeping, bee breeds, beehive and bee hotel making and maintenance and a supplementary half-day offsite visit to their hives in Croydon Park.

What to Bring
Come in comfortable clothing. You might be doing some beehive and bee hotel building!
Distancing will be adhered to inside the building. Each attendee will be allotted a 4sqm space.
Gavin Smith manages the Inner West Amateur Beekeepers Association who operate out of Mungo Scott’s annex. You’ll see him building hives and bee hotels often on Sundays when the Flour Mill Markets are operating!
Gavin has inspired and encouraged many individuals into the wonderful world of beekeeping with his work in mentoring and leading beekeeping workshops around Sydney and New South Wales. Along with his vast experience in top bar hives, Gavin is also known to host and help with many Australian native beehives and has appeared in the media and on TV programs such as the ABC’s Gardening Australia with Costa Georgiadis
